Day
1- Introduction to Thai Massage/Supine position- Feet and Energy Lines
Introduction to the background, history and theory of The Art
of traditional Thai massage, and Thai culture as well and the
energy lines system. Body mechanics demonstration / Lunch break/
practice.
Following the Massage Thai tradition demonstration Starts from
the feet. Warming up foot massage, loosening up of the feet, pressure
points, acupressure on the soles, ankle stretching, exploration
of energy lines on the inside and outside of the leg. Appropriate
body mechanics of thumb pressure of the energy lines of the legs.
Demonstration of blood stop to the legs/ Lunch break/ practice
between students
Day 2- Leg stretch Single Leg Stretches
Applying sequence stretches on one leg at a time. You will learn
how to move your body and you client's body at the same time/
Lunch break/ practice
Day 3- Double Leg Stretch Sequence
Double leg stretches. Applying several yoga-based stretches on
both legs together. Demonstration of opening and lengthening the
spine, applying several stretches working with two legs at one
time/ Lunch break/ practice
Day 4- Upper body/ Stomach, arms,
hands
Stomach, Chest and Arms. Massaging these parts of the body, including
pressure points on the abdomen and chest, palming the stomach.
Finger and thumb pressure. Energy line work for the chest, shoulders
and arms including a blood stop to the arms. Acupressure points
and stretches for the hands/ Lunch break/ practice
Day 5- Practice Supine Position of legs Stretch Sequence and Upper Body
Day 6- Side Position
Side Position. Working along the 3rd outside energy line on the
leg, plus some stretches and two spinal twists, arms and hand
massage, all applied with the person lying on their side. / Lunch
break/ practice
Day 7- Back position
Back of Body. Walking on the feet, pressure points along energy lines beside the spine, shoulder blade work, leg stretches and cobra stretch. Ankle and thigh stretch. Leg, hip and back stretch. Palming and thumbing the energy lines of the back/ Lunch break/ practice
Day 8 -Sitting position and face
massage
Concentrate on the shoulder and neck and occipital area pressure
points, energy line work for the neck and head, stretching neck,
arm sequence, spinal twist, back stretching, Massage of the face
and head, focusing on pressure points. / Lunch break/ practice
Day 9- Final Review Completed Protocol
Review completed sequence Thai Massage and practice of all materials an opportunity to practice, give a 2 hours full body massage. Protocol/ Practice day
Day 10 Clinic- Whole body massage Final Evaluation
Final evaluation a 1 1/2 hours full treatment incorporating reviewed techniques from the previous day under supervision. The student will receive detailed feedback from clients. Jongrak, the course tutor, with her advice, cautions and recommendations for your future practice. Graduation
